Understanding your Costs

Two Lines on the Pregnancy Test?  Time to enroll in extraordinary care!  Paying for care can be confusing.

So how to understand your costs?

Our billers can create an estimate for you, or you can work with your HR or insurance company--your choice!

Either way, making a plan early allows for a payment plan over the course of your pregnancy instead of receiving a big bill after your birth.

You call or have our billers call? That is a good question!

We strongly encourage you to understand how and what your insurance will and will not cover.

--If you have Apple Health, your services are covered 100%

--If you have a private insurance, you'll need to call your customer number on the back of your card or in your app and ask the questions below

--If you have an employer-paid plan, call your HR or the number on the back of your card or in your app.  We strongly recommend you advocate for your employer to direct-contract with us. We can bundle great services and features of care into contracts with your employer.  Contact your HR and ask who we should talk to about creating a direct contract with them.

Activate our biller to give you an estimate

We have a $500 fee for all private pay clients. This is a one-time, non-refundable fee due at the start of care.  Payment plans are available.  Email us at info@myrvcc.org to set one up.

Our biller will research your insurance coverage and provide you with an estimate.  The actual amount you'll owe is subject to changes in your plan or usage over the course of your pregnancy.  Please complete this form to have the biller activated on your behalf.

If you prefer to cash pay and cut the insurance out of the equation, please email us and our biller will call you.

Call your Insurance Company

When you call your insurance company, we advise asking them how they cover pregnancy, birth at a birth center, birth at the hospital, newborn,  and postpartum care. Learn about your deductible, out of pocket maximum, and ask what else can impact the cost of your care.

There is one fee for this care, called a Global Fee for pregnancy, birth, and limited newborn and postpartum care.  This is billed in two stages:  after the birth, and at the end of care.  You will not see a bill until after the birth.  But you can start a payment plan early in pregnancy to avoid the whole bill arriving after baby.

If we provide other services such as hydration fluids or IV iron, those are billed separately at the time of service.
